Boy or Girl?

Tuesday (March 31st) we find out what the gender of the baby is! Jake and Tess think the baby is a boy. Dan and I are trying to think of a fun way to tell them... any ideas??

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Tess enjoying GREEN Mac'n Cheese

Jacob in his "dancing" hat

Holidays like this one make me miss my family and also truly appreciate the fun traditions I grew up with! Tess and Jacob have been soooo excited for our all GREEN day! We began with Lucky Charms for breakfast , we finished decorating the house with balloons, than had a fun play group with lots of GREEN treats and crafts, and will end the day with a fun dinner. Thanks mom for the "Breinholt Culture" as Dan calls it! Missing you today!

Homemade Slide

Last week we enjoyed a fun day of sledding down a huge hill. Jacob discovered that he could slide down the hill without a sled...he went down on his belly over and over thanks to his snowsuit. My smart little 4 year old now enjoys his own homemade slide.

Dan runs on the treadmill while Jacob does his own, the stairs. Jacob works up quite a sweat and tells Dan "I am going faster than you Daddy"! Last night Dan started to sing with his iPOD and Jake chimed in, while sailing down the stairs over and over and over again.

"Wah Wah, Let Me OUT!"

The news is out, I am pregnant (13wks). I thought I'd share how fabulous my little family has been over the last 7 SICK filled weeks! Man-o-man have I been sick. With Tess I lost some weight during the first trimester and wasn't surprised when the vomiting began this time. I definitely wasn't expecting this! Well, after losing 10lbs in 3 weeks I was put on anti-nausea pills and have since tried several different types. NOT FUN! I will just leave it at that!

Dan has been great! When he gets home from work he takes over! He has taken over the cooking and has cleaned the bathrooms several times for me! Tess and Jake adore their fun daddy! I am so grateful for his help!

Jacob - 6 months and smirking!

Jacob and Tess have been amazing and hilarious!! They both know the location of our big bowls and quickly run to get one for me! Jacob has loved keeping this a "surprise" (secret)! He is very interested in pictures and the development of the "smushed" baby! He told me one day, "Mommy, I know you are tired so, I'll put Tess down for a nap for you." He continued to tell me that since he is "big and 4 years old now, I will one day be a daddy!" He melted my heart! He took Tess to her room and read her books for about 35 minutes until I came in and made them sleep.

Tess, well she just makes us laugh! When we told her I had a baby in my belly she came super close to my belly, lifted my shirt, tilted her cute red curly head and said, "Mommy, the baby saying Wah Wah Let Me Out, Let Me Out!" I had a good laugh at that one! Everyone in our family has a baby in their belly now! One night this past month she woke up sick. As I was cleaning her up in the tub she joyously told me that the baby in her belly made her throw-up, "I'm just like you mommy!" The next day she insisted on carrying around a bowl everywhere she went.

Tess - 6 months and adorable!

So far I have just felt like a sick women instead of a pregnant women! Those days will end soon. To all you women out there who have felt horrible during pregnancy...I PRAISE you! We really are grateful to be pregnant and excited for this new little one to come!

April 2009!

Some of you may be wondering why it took me to the age of 28 to finish my BACHELORS degree?!

Well, let me explain. Cliff notes version:

I met Dan, who was finishing his MASTERS degree in the middle of my second year at BYU. When I told my mom I was dating Dan, who happened to be several years older than me, she had some concerns! One of which was that I would never finish my degree. She thought I'd get married, move away and have a family (just like her:) without completing my degree! Well, Mom was right! Except.....

After EIGHT YEARS and lots of craziness I have a Bachelors of Science in Marriage, Family, and Human Development. The best part is that I get to "walk" with my sister Liz and my MOM in April. They are graduating in MFHD as well so we truly will be walking together! So, be on the look out for more details on my fabulous sister and amazing mother, pictures, and the run down on a HUGE party in Provo!

First Day of Preschool!!!

Jacob just started Preschool! Last week I got a call from one of his teachers saying they had an open spot!! This opening could not have come at a better time for me! It is so fun to pick him up and see this adorable HAPPY little face run to me and give me a big hug. His teacher told me he follows directions like a pro and is getting along well with the other kids. Tess and I are enjoying our "girl-talk" time while Jake is away! (Note Jacob's sleeves! He puts on his own coat and insists on doing it this way....so his sleeves don't get all bunched up! Dan is a bit worried and tries to convince him not to pull his shirt sleeves through so much! I just think it is cute!)
