HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!
Jakes school parade and party.
Tess would run over to Jake and then back to me over and over. She sure loves him.
Trunk-or-Treat
I love the deer in the headlight look on Tess...(she's thinking "look at all the CANDY, GIMEE GIMEE"!)

Tess's hair matches her big Reeses candy bar from the Bishop!

Our little bunny was ready to go home.
Last year Jake and Tess had the swine flu so we didn't go trick-or-treating. Once again we have sickness and no trick-or-treating (the second is due to it being Sunday). I stayed home with the kids while Dan did the church thing today. I kept the kids busy with Halloween Sunday appropriate Fun: crafts, jack-o-lantern quesadillas for lunch (if only I could get them as excited to eat every meal like they did their cheesy jacks), Halloween memory game, and ended the day with a good ol family movie, The Wizard of Oz, while eating lots of candy!

Abby's two "fang" teeth broke through today, just in time for Halloween.

Mustard?

Tess: Mom, why do you have mustard on your cheek?
Me: Well... because the doctor had to cut into my jaw bone and now I have owie's.
Tess: Can you taste the mustard in your throat?

Last week I had jaw surgery to do a bone graft as well as extract another tooth. Silly me thought the recovery would be like losing a tooth! Two to Three days recovery tops and then back to normal. Not quite. Although talking hurts, I still look a little icky, and I'm poppin Advil like candy I am well on the way to getting back to normal.

About 3 weeks ago my mom surprised me with a phone call to say she was coming out to help! Needless to say I cried when she told me. Mom and Dad are still serving a mission so this wasn't as simple as booking a plane ticket. I can't explain how much it meant to me to have my mom come. No one understands or comforts me like my mama when it comes to my dental issues.

Our ward primary sacrament program was this last Sunday. I really really really didn't want to miss it! Jake worked so hard to memorize his part and Tess, is just too cute to miss. So, I used all the energy I had to get ready Sunday morning ( trying to disguise my huge bruised face with my hair the best I could!) while mom took care of the kids. Once we got in the car I felt nauseous and dizzzy. I had to rest in the car while mom took the kids into sacrament meeting. After 20 minutes I headed in slowly. I enjoyed the program while resting my head on Dan's shoulder and mom held Abby, since Dan is in the bishopric this was a real treat!! Jake didn't hesitate one bit when he got up and with a huge grin he ACED his scripture. Tess's class performed the First Article of Faith. Tess was funny to watch. During the songs she watched her friend next to her, her nails, the ceiling rather than the chorister. After the closing song I quickly got up to head out to the car and just about lost it in the back of the chapel...Dan seriously caught me on the way out! I wobbled like I was drunk...well, I was on percocet. I wasn't quite up to chatting or walking for that matter! Glad we sat towards the back! Although I know there were plenty who enjoyed the show! :)

Here is Abby's latest trick...
Confidently WALKING and yes he has discovered how to take her pants and diaper off.

The other day, completely out of the middle of no where, Tess asked Dan and I if we knew what Sally, her stuffed doggy, wanted to be for Halloween? Dan quickly asked "a cat?" Nope. Tess informed us that Sally wanted to be " a pig! Cause she loves pigs!" She keeps me smiling, even when it hurts!

Elephant Bowling

Tessie tried but ended up using her hands!

Jake was awesome!
(you like my little pirate...any advice on how to get a 5 year old to keep a patch on for 4 hours a day let me know!!)

Good'ol family fun!

Annual Apple Orchard Trip

Sadly our busy schedules didn't allow us to go to Skytop Orchard and camp this year. We decided we wanted to make it a trip still so we headed only an hour and a half away to discover a new orchard, Marker-Miller Orchard in Winchester, MD. It was a fabulous find and we had a great time.

Abby enjoyed riding on Daddy's shoulders while Jake took Tess for a ride in her chariot!
The kids enjoyed a free tractor ride on cows!

Abby devoured yummy apple cider donuts!

Private Blog

We are officially a private blog. After attending a class that discussed the positive and negative aspects of technology Dan and I have decided to be a bit more protective for our kidos! Just think, now it will be even easier for everyone to leave a comment...you are already logged in! (hint hint family!)

Abby loves it when Jake and Tess play with her!

First Day of Pre-K

Friday was Tess's first day of preschool. After dropping off and picking up Jake for a year and a half at Damascus Community Preschool it is finally her turn! She has missed her playmate sooo much since kindergarten started! She wasn't the least bit nervous and gave her teachers a big hug when we walked in. When I picked her up she was all smiles and excitedly told me "Mommy, I didn't even get in time-out!" I later found out that listening to your teachers is one of the tid-bits of advice Jake had given her when they had their talk on the top bunk on his first day of school. Jake was very proud of her too!

We love DCP and are so grateful for their kindness and love they show our kids!

Abby's first steps...

It doesn't matter what number of child it is, the first few steps are exciting and soooo adorable! Abby had FOUR cheerleaders today and I couldn't be happier!! (notice the hair brush in her hand, she'd take a couple steps and stop and brush her hair!)
