Playing at Grandma's

We stayed with Grandma Riley for the first two nights in between the wedding. Grandma Riley always makes us feel so welcome, she and Aunt Rhonda! We took a walk in her woods, played on the dirt road with "dirt bombs" and ate root beer floats. At church on Sunday Abby was content to sit on Grandma Riley's lap for a good 10 minutes! That never happens!

Then we headed over to Grandma Great's for the last night. We really enjoyed catching up with Uncle Cris and Aunt Hollie. The kids love being goofy with them, they are always so much fun. We drove the golf-cart over and over. I have to admit that I can't help but grin when I get to drive it fast over bumps and hear Jake's cute laugh! He thinks his mama is a "crazy driver". I love it.

Grandma Great and Uncle Herold love'n on Abigail Pauline.

One of the best parts of the southern culture is sitting on a porch and talk'n and talk'n. Grandma Great has a perfect screened in porch out back that is perfect for just that. The kids love playing with all of her great garage sale finds...

When we first arrived at Grandma Greats Tess was scared of the black cat, Meowzer. A couple years ago, when she was still in diapers, she pulled on that cats tail and got to feel her claws. So, she has reason to be scared. But  by the end of our 24 hours, with a little help from DAN, she was love'n Meowzer!

Monday morning we packed up to leave and noticed a very flat tire! Uncle Herold saved the day, he had all the tools needed to fix us up. While the tire was being fixed the kids enjoyed the extra time to play outside. Jake and Abby got nice and dirty! I realized this trip just how dirty my kids would be every day if we lived in the country.

We left for home by about 11am. The trip home is always so long and a bit depressing (especially when it starts with a flat tire and a late start). However, the beautiful fall colors definitely helped to make it more enjoyable!
My pictures really don't do it justice!

It's not fair that Uncle Harold gets all of the Abigail sugar.
